GetQuote v1.0 was released today. Based, on the popular GetStockPrice extension for OpenOffice.org Calc, this new extension implements the following new features:
- 6 quote types: Last Traded, Change, Open, High, Low, and Volume
- Get multiple quote types for multiple symbols with a single call
- Users Manual
Thank you for developing this extension. I have spent the better part of my day trying to make one function to work. I even copy and paste your example. But I could not make 1 call to update 2 symbols. I read and reread your user's manual. I just wonder if my Win7, 64 bit is the culprit here as I have the latest OO release.
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteWith this extension, is it possible to obtain information from Yahoo Currency Converter? I have a spreadsheet with a list of prices in USD, EUR and GBP, and need to convert them to COP all the days.
Thanks!
Ted, can option quotes be retrieved? Here is the symbol from yahoo WY110319C00022000. I can't get it to work
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for a great extension- it's just what I need.
ReplyDeleteAlthough it works fine for stocks and exchange rates it doe not work for 'mutual funds', e.g.:
GB0003875100.L
I tried to install on my XP desktop. But when I did, I get the "Could not create Java implementation loader" error. I followed the instructions in Troubleshooting, but find that two later versions are there (1.6 v22 & 24, I think) I tried both, but still get the error. Any other suggestions?
ReplyDeletein previos message, that should be Java 6 v 22, 24. I installed 25 and I still get the error message, so can't get Getquote to work with XP.
ReplyDeleteThe only help I can offer with installation issues is to:
ReplyDelete1. Make sure some java version is enabled (The ones you mention should be fine)
2. Uninstall all versions of the extension
3. Close all Open Office applications (log off or reboot to make sure)
4. Reinstall the extension
Apache OpenOffice 3.4.0 Mac OS X 10.6.8
ReplyDeleteGETQUOTE works just fine but when I save the spreadsheet and then reopen, GETQUOTE is replaced with GETHISTORY....Ver 1.0 did not have this problem but now I cannot find the older version....Help!
I've discovered that saving in XLS format instead of ODT is the problem.
